A lifelong Florida resident, Shane Chernoff graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication. After a short career in journalism, Chernoff pursued a Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University. In 2017, Chernoff was admitted to practice in the State of Florida by the Florida Supreme Court.
Although he left journalism, Chernoff’s time in the industry trained him not only to ask meaningful questions but also to fact-check the answers and to become comfortable with difficult-to-navigate situations.
Chenroff’s career in law began as a partner at a renowned Florida defense firm where he represented Fortune 500 companies. Chernoff successfully argued cases involving premises liability, breach of contract, product liability, and car accident injuries.
That time on the defense would prove valuable to Chernoff when he made the move to a midsize Plaintiff personal injury firm in 2023. Armed with experience in how the defense is likely to approach a lawsuit, Chernoff carefully strategizes each case to prepare for those attacks, identifying weaknesses in the defense and picking them apart.
“It allows us to anticipate how things are going to be attacked,” Chernoff said, adding that his experience also puts clients at ease. “It’s important to make the client comfortable and prepared.”
Chernoff’s knowledge and reputation are key factors in his consistently successful pursuit of full compensation for his clients’ injuries.
That was never more evident than in 2025 when he joined Weisser Law. Within 3 days of the firm’s existence, Chernoff secured more than $2 million in settlements, including settlements from a large regional airline and a large food delivery company.
Shortly thereafter, Chernoff took a case to trial, where he secured a win resulting in 100% of liability being placed on another driver, not his client. The case was highly contested and required a vast knowledge of Florida’s traffic laws.
“I take a lot of pride in knowing Florida’s complicated traffic laws and using that knowledge to fight for the best outcome possible for our clients,” Chernoff said.
Along with expertise in auto, trucking, and other motor vehicle accidents, Chernoff routinely handles cases involving medical malpractice, personal liability, construction, and premises liability.
When he’s not fighting for his clients, Chernoff enjoys running half marathons, playing Mario Kart, playing tennis, spending time with his rescue dog Ranger, and watching the Florida Panthers and Florida Gators.
